Sworn translator

CBTI sworn translators are translators who have been sworn before the President of the Court of Appeal in the jurisdiction where they carry out their professional activities and who are listed in the national register of sworn translators, interpreters and translators-interpreters. They are specialised in translating legal documents from a source language which they understand perfectly into a target language in which they have native or near-native proficiency. Moreover they have completed a special training programme in legal matters. They work regularly for legal and police services.

Translator

Translators who are Chamber members have verified qualifications (University education and/or many years of experience in translation). They do written translations from a source language of which they have excellent understanding to target languages in which they have native or near-native proficiency. Many of them have developed specialities (technical, scientific, medical, legal etc.).

Conference interpreter

Conference interpreters who are Chamber members have verified qualifications (university education and/or many years of experience in conference interpreting). They provide spoken language translation – in direct contact, simultaneously or consecutively using their own notes – of presentations or exchanges going on during meetings, seminars, colloquia, conferences, technical meetings, negotiations, etc.

Sworn interpreter

Sworn interpreters who are Chamber members are sworn translators who also provide oral translation during legal proceedings before courts and tribunals, during police questioning, marriages, etc.

Sign language interpreter

Sign language interpreters who are Chamber members are professional interpreters who have verified qualifications in interpreting sign language. They translate from one or more languages of which they have a thorough knowledge into sign language for the benefit of the hard of hearing.
